Infiltration pipes can be cleared. No digger needed.
A biological unblocker for the pipes that carry water from your domestic treatment plant into the soil. 400 billion Bacillus bacteria and five enzymes break down the biomat, the thick, sticky layer that builds up in the pipes over the years, layer by layer. No acids, no caustic soda, safe for your treatment plant.

Water isn’t soaking away and wet patches appear on the lawn
A biomat grows in infiltration pipes: a dense, dark layer of fats, organic residue and sludge. It blocks the pipe perforations and the pores of the surrounding soil, and the water has nowhere left to go.
- Water sits above the pipes or in the distribution box
- Wet patches on the lawn above the pipes
- The level in the treatment plant rises and it overflows
- An unpleasant smell over the drainage field
Jetting opens a channel through the blockage, but the biomat on the pipe walls stays, and the problem usually returns within 1–2 years. Replacing a drainage field means a digger, new pipes, new gravel and a dug-up garden.
Biology instead of a digger
Mix in warm water
The dose in a bucket of warm water (about 30°C). Leave 30 minutes to activate.
Pour via the box
Into the distribution box, straight to the pipes. Pump out any standing water first.
Enzymes do the work
Lipase, proteases, amylase and cellulase break down the biomat, layer by layer.
Which BioMe product suits your system
All four break down the biomat with Bacillus bacteria and enzymes. Each regenerator is made for one type of infiltration system only and has a mineral carrier that takes the granules to the bottom of the system.
Blocked pipes and drains
When water has started to drain slowly or has stopped draining. Dissolve in warm water and pour in through the distribution box. That’s BioMe Drain Unblocker.
Classic drainage field
A flat network of perforated pipes laid in gravel under the lawn. Choose BioMe Drainage Field Regenerator.
Infiltration tunnels
Arch-shaped chambers made of perforated plastic. Choose BioMe Infiltration Tunnel Regenerator.
Soakaway
A vertical pit made of concrete or plastic rings, filled with gravel. Choose BioMe Soakaway Regenerator.
Two modes, one rule: use it in the evening
Treatment
- Dose
- the whole pack (600 g)
- How often
- once
- Repeat
- after 4 weeks, if needed
Prevention
- Dose
- ⅓ of the pack (about 200 g)
- How often
- every 3–4 months
- Pack lasts
- 9–12 months
Dissolve the dose in a bucket of warm water (about 30°C) and leave it for 30 minutes. Pour it in during the evening through the distribution box, straight into the infiltration pipes, and allow 8–12 hours with no fresh wastewater.
Don’t dissolve in boiling water: above 50°C the bacteria die. Don’t combine with chlorine, caustic soda, acids or disinfectants. After chemicals, wait at least 24 hours and flush the system with plenty of water.
What this product won’t do
It won’t remove roots, sand or rubble
Nor will it repair cracked pipes. It only breaks down the organic biomat. Anything else is a job for a specialist contractor.
It won’t work in 15 minutes
The bacteria need time to colonise the pipes. The first results show after about 10 days, the full effect after about 4 weeks.
It’s no substitute for jetting when clogging is advanced
If water has been surfacing on the lawn for weeks, jetting may be needed. After that, use BioMe for prevention every 3–4 months.
What our customers ask
How quickly will I see a difference?
The first results (water soaks away better, the level in the treatment plant drops) show after about 10 days. Full clearing takes about 4 weeks. With very heavy clogging, a second application after 4 weeks may be needed.
Is it safe for my treatment plant?
Yes. Bacillus bacteria don’t kill the bacterial life in your treatment plant; they support the biological processes throughout the whole system. Chemical unblockers with chlorine or caustic soda can upset it for many weeks.
How is it different from the BioMe regenerators?
Each regenerator is made for one type of system only: a drainage field, infiltration tunnels or a soakaway. They have a mineral carrier that takes the granules to the bottom of the system and need 24 hours with no wastewater. Drain Unblocker is dissolved in warm water, poured in through the distribution box and needs an 8–12 hour pause.
Does it replace jetting?
For moderate clogging with biomat, yes. If water no longer drains at all: jet out the main blockage first, then use BioMe in treatment mode for the biofilm left on the pipe walls, then for prevention every 3–4 months.
I’ve used a chemical unblocker. When can I use BioMe?
After at least 24 hours and a good flush of the system with water. Any chlorine, caustic soda or acid residue would kill the bacteria in the product.
Can I use it in winter?
Bacillus bacteria work at about 5–50°C, best at 25–40°C. Below 5°C in the soil, activity drops sharply, which is why you dissolve the product in warm water first. In a hard frost, wait until the ground thaws.
Can I use it together with BioMe Wastewater Solution?
Yes. Wastewater Solution works inside the tanks of your treatment plant, Drain Unblocker in the infiltration system. You can use them side by side.
Everything you need to know
Ingredients
Sodium chloride, Bacillus bacteria (GRAS status), maltodextrin, enzymes (alpha-amylase, alkaline protease, neutral protease, lipase, cellulase), lemon fragrance, trace elements. Beige-brown granules, lemon scent with a faint note of fermentation, pH 5–8, fully water-soluble, fully biodegradable.
Storage
- In the tightly sealed pack, somewhere cool and dry (up to 25°C)
- Away from moisture: damp greatly reduces the activity of the bacteria and enzymes
- Away from heat sources, sunlight and strong oxidisers
- Out of reach of children and pets, away from food
